Ellie’s Approach

I believe in creating a safe and supportive environment where individuals and families can explore their challenges, build on their strengths, and grow into the healthiest version of themselves. My approach is integrative, drawing on Eco-Systemic Family Therapy (ESFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, and other evidence-based practices. I work with clients on issues including trauma, substance use, identity development (including LGBTQ+ and transgender youth), parenting, self-esteem, and emotional regulation. My practice is grounded in compassion, cultural humility, and collaborative care.

ABOUT Ellie

Ellie is dedicated to integrating a comprehensive whole person perspective to wellness and thriving, recognizing the importance of addressing both emotional and physical aspects of health for a balanced life.

Ellie's approach to counseling is characterized by a strong emphasis on empathy and active listening, creating a safe space where clients feel heard and validated. She employs a client-centered framework, encouraging individuals to explore their thoughts and feelings at their own pace while guiding them toward self-discovery. By integrating evidence-based techniques, Ellie tailors her methods to fit the unique needs of each client, fostering resilience and personal growth. Her ability to build genuine connections helps to empower clients, enabling them to confront challenges with confidence and develop healthier coping strategies.

She finds great fulfillment in working with new parents, teens, and families, as each group presents unique challenges and opportunities for growth. New parents often navigate a complex emotional landscape filled with both joy and uncertainty, while teens face critical developmental phases that can be both exciting and daunting. Families, as a dynamic unit, provide a rich context for therapy, allowing for relational exploration and communication enhancement. Her approach focuses on fostering understanding and connection, helping clients find their footing during these pivotal stages of life.
